Theatrical Spine Chiller "The Woman in Black" Opens at the Woolfe Street Playhouse, Oct. 17th

 The Village Repertory Company, in residence at Woolfe Street Playhouse presents the first 2nd Stage production of the Season- Susan Hill's "The Woman in Black" adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt. Opening Thursday, October 17 and playing for limited seven performances including Halloween Night at 10 pm.

"The Woman in Black" is the terrifying story of Arthur Kipps, a man haunted by events of his past. He hires a young actor to act out the horrifying events in an attempt to rid himself of his nightmares...but things things take a frightening turn.

The Macintosh Introduces Expanded Bacon Happy Hour Menu

 The Macintosh introduced a new, expanded format of its ever popular Bacon Happy Hour this month. A weeknight mainstay since the restaurant’s 2011 opening, this is an exciting transformation for fans of the beloved bar special. Guests will be offered a selection of dishes for $5 each, a $5 cocktail special, as well as a periodically changing menu.

Named for executive chef Jeremiah Bacon and featured in both Bon Appetit and USA TODAY, Bacon Happy Hour offers dishes such as pork belly sliders, lettuce wraps and pork dip served on baguette. Increasing the menu selections, The Macintosh’s culinary team is afforded the chance to further increase creativity in the kitchen.

“We are excited to update and expand our signature happy hour with this new menu format,” stated chef Bacon. “The change allows the culinary team to be creative, have fun with the menu and introduce flavor combinations not showcased on our regular menu.”

Bacon Happy Hour will continue to take place Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. In addition to the $5 appetizer and cocktail offerings, $4 beer and $5 house liquor will also be available. Visit The Macintosh at 479B King Street in the Upper King Design District. 

Big or Small, Cupcake DownSouth Wants to Save Them All

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Lowcountry and Cupcake remains committed to supporting the cause. The special ‘Cupcake for the Cure’, a chocolate cake with cream cheese icing and a pink sugar heart, will be available for purchase daily in both locations, as well as in Columbia, throughout the month.

For every ‘Pink’ cupcake sold, Cupcake will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to raise awareness and fund to find a cure. Customers can also support the cause by making an in-store donation of $1 or more at any location, and receive a dollar off coupon toward a future visit.

Stars Celebrates One Year with a Special Anniversary Menu Monday Nights in October
