Ayoka Lucas is the creative visionary behind Charleston Magazine's wildly successful Charleston Fashion Week (CFW). Showcasing emerging designer and model talent across the East Coast, CFW has fast become one of the premier fashion weeks in North America since its founding in 2007.
Charleston Fashion Week is about business. There are more than 7,500 attendees, nightly sold-out events and chic after-parties throughout the city, delivering more than $2.4 million of economic impact in Charleston. As a small business owner, the more you know about CFW, the more your business can prosper from this great event.
Held March 19-23 under the tents in Marion Square in downtown Charleston, this five-night celebration will feature more than 35 runway shows, the Emerging Designer Competition East, the Spring Bridal Show, and the Rock the Runway Model Competition.
Ayoka Lucas' career as an innovative stylist began more than a decade ago in Atlanta, where she styled a local nightlife columnist and other celebrities. After relocating to Charleston, she wrote a weekly column that combined fashion, pop culture, and local events for Charleston City Paper.
Lucas then joined the Charleston Magazine team in 2003 as style editor, producing the magazine's monthly Style File, quarterly fashion features, and ongoing style blog. Lucas also serves as style editor for Charleston Home and Charleston Weddings magazines and as a contributing fashion correspondent on NBC News 2, ABC News 4's Lowcountry Live, and 95sx-FM's Two Girls & a Guy in the Morning show.
Each month, Small Business Lunch at Halls features a distinguished speaker from the business, civic or political arenas upstairs at Halls Chophouse with an imaginative three course meal prepared by Executive Chef Matthew Niessner.
Tickets are $28 per person for the luncheon and parking. Doors open at 11:30 AM and lunch is served promptly at noon. Limited seating of 60 participants provides an intimate experience with each speaker. Click Here For ticket Information or call the 24/7 ticket hotline at 1-800-838-3006.
