This is Halls Sunday Brunch. Tangy yogurt and honey parfait with fresh fruit, coffee you would expect to be good but is really, really good, poured fresh every few minutes by the hovering staff.
Crabcakes Benedict with surprises only Executive Chef Matthew Neissner can do, a little wilted arugula, roasted pepper creole sauce, perfectly poached eggs. Surprising and so delicious, with creamy Pepperjack Grits.
As if that weren't enough, Christal Brown-Gibson's beautiful gospel songs and piano permeate every corner of the place; her voice is so sweet and bold. These are songs you recognize with simple, crisp and excellent piano. Classy. Just what you would want a Gospel Sunday Brunch to be. Amen.
Halls Chophouse is located at 434 King Street in the Upper King Design District in historic downtown Charleston. Halls Gospel Sunday Brunch is served from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
