"Maybe it's an obvious choice, but I just can't help it. Halls was superior in every way. From the friendly manager (some call it schmoozing, but I personally like to pretend I'm a VIP) to the gospel singers and the deliciousness of everything I ate and drank, it was a divine Charleston brunch experience. O-Ku Open For Lunch Beginning Today

 O-Ku Sushi begins serving lunch fare from 11:30 to 2:30 today. Stop by for your lunch break and savor Executive Chef Sean Park's Japanese cuisine with a modern twist.

Wildlife Artist Rick Reinert Will be at Michael Mitchell Gallery for SEWE King Street Stroll

Come to welcome and meet award-winning wildlife artist Rick Reinert at the Michael Mitchell Gallery during the annual SEWE King Street Stroll, Friday, February 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, part of Charleston's fantastic Southeastern Wildlife Exposition.

Rick Reinert, from Logansport, IN, formally trained in the arts at Western Kentucky University in the 70's. This led to one-man shows in Germany, Toronto and Canada in the 80's that featured bold, expressionistic work. After renewing his commitment to painting a number of years ago he now focuses more on expressing light and shadow in natural surroundings.

Recently Rick's painting, "Ships of the Heartland," was chosen as a top 100 winner in the 2008 Paint America competition. Among several other accolades, Rick has been chosen as a featured artist in the Gadsden Museum of Art Southeastern Plein Air Festival in Gadsden, AL.
