The Fab Four get the royal treatment in the world premiere of CBT Resident Choreographer Jill Eathorne Bahr's latest masterful creation The Magical Mystery Tour opens Jan. 23rd at the Black Box Theatre. Inspired by the Masterworks of The Beatles, this innovative interpretation of the lyrics and settings of the legendary band's catalogue features a celebration in dance of rock n' roll classics from the tribal energy of "Lady Madonna" to the haunting beauty of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", the simplicity of "Penny Lane" and the dreamy escape of "Yellow Submarine".
The Magical Mystery Tour is sponsored by The Upper King Design District and The John M Dunnan Galleries, both of which will be hosting events the weekend of the performances. Friday Jan. 23rd from
6:00pm - 7:30pm, restaurants and businesses along Upper King Design District will host The Magical Mystery Stroll. Guests are invited to stroll up and down the celebrated shopping/dining/entertainment district and visit the many Beatles-themed events and enjoy cocktails prior to the opening night of the show. The stroll is free to the public.
Sunday Jan. 25th at 4:30pm following the closing matinee performance, ticket holders are invited to a reception at The John M Dunnan Galleries at 121 Church St. With light hors d'oeuvres & libations, the event will also feature works of Mr. Dunnan inspired by CBT Dance Company members Nicole Harden and Trey Mauldwin who will pose for Mr. Dunnan in a series that will be for sale at the reception with a portion of proceeds to benefit CBT.
