Charleston's newest and finest kitchen design store, King Street Kitchen Company, opened Thursday night with a bang as partners Dylan Gilliam, Steve Luisi, Josh Hopkins and Amy Luisi hosted a great event. Chef Nico Romo from Fish prepared dim sum for the standing-room-only crowd as the Sub-Zero ice sculpture glistened and champagne flowed. Cars from Baker Motors served as shuttles to parking at the Charleston Visitors Center (the Maserati looked like the No. 1 choice with the Maybach close behind) and guests received gift bags that included--what else--embroidered chef hats sporting the KSKC logo. This group knows how to throw a party, which gives a glimpse into the way they plan kitchens, with impact and connectivity, hospitality and lifestyle in mind. The King Street Kitchen Company showroom is at 543 King Street in the Upper King Design District.
