Le Creuset is French for “if you love to cook you’ll love using these tools.” Not really, but it’s how many of us feel. Watch The Food Network; many of the host chefs use their exquisitely produced cast iron pots and pans. Many of our talented Charleston chefs use them, too. I don’t claim cooking proficiency, but I use it, and there really is a difference. Not to mention it’s so pretty.
In Charleston we are fortunate to have a larger-than-most Le Creuset presence. Their North American Marketing Office and Culinary Center, L’Atelier Le Creuset, is at Ripley Point. For a long time, their signature store sat cozily at 241 King Street between Starbucks and the Pauline Sisters Media Center.
Susan Walker wanted a shop on lower King Street to display her hand-woven wares from foreign lands, but she couldn’t find the street-level space she yearned for. So she looked to a store with second-floor space to see what was available.

Join Art Mecca of Charleston for their annual South Eastern Wildlife Exhibition Art Show. The opening reception will be held on Friday, February 13 from 5:00 - 8:00pm. They will be featuring two local wildlife photographers Chris and Cami Smith. The gallery will also be serving complimentary beverages.
The party will continue during their monthly 3rd Friday Art Walk on Friday, February 20th from 5pm-8pm.
In 1994, Chris and Cami were pursuing separate photographic careers when a chance encounter brought them together. At the time, Chris was the Sales Manager for Click Camera’s location in Huber Heights, OH. Cami was the Lab Manager for the company’s location in Dayton, OH. When Chris’ lab tech had to leave work one day due to an emergency, Cami volunteered to cover the void. It began as a professional courtesy and now the rest is history!
Don't miss the regional premiere of the “lost classic”, London Wall, by John Van Druten.
London Wall explores the tumultuous lives and love affairs of the women employed as shorthand typists in a busy solicitor’s office in 1930’s London. Pat Milligan (McKenna DuBose), a naïve young typist, falls for the charms of a predatory junior lawyer. Watching with concern is the firm’s senior secretary, her too-timid suitor and several others in the office. Presiding over all is Mr. Walker, gamely trying to navigate a new kind of office where men and women must work side by side.
Directed by Village Rep Producing Artistic Director Keely Enright. London Wall boasts a stellar cast of Charleston’s finest performers including Theatre Charleston Award winners Becca Anderson, Samille Basler, Robbie Thomas, Jeff Jordan, Bronson Taylor, Lara Allred and Sarah Callahan.
