Join the Art Mecca of Charleston on October 17th during the monthly Upper King Shop and Stroll. From 5- 8pm the gallery will be featuring artist Michael Hayes in his solo exhibition "Water Preserved".
Michael Hayes's artistic career began in the 1980's in New York City where this rich artistic and cultural submersion formed him. Taking inspiration from the nearby Hampton beaches and travels to Italy, his waterscapes began to semi abstractly show themselves.
Landscape paintings with water became his main theme with use of color and light. Trips to the Caribbean eventually influenced Michael to paint water in Lyrical Abstraction. In 2012 he moved to Campobello, SC and has continued to convey water abstractly from the local waterways to the Caribbean and France.
The gallery will be serving complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Stop by the gallery at 427 King Street.
