Small Business Lunch at Halls is pleased to present Chuck Driesell, the Men's Basketball Coach for the Citadel Bulldogs as our distinguished speaker, Thursday, November 1. He's the son of an ACC legend and he will bring you up-to-date on his plans for the upcoming 2012/2013 season. It always a great luncheon and great time to network with Charleston business leaders.
Coach Driesell is the 28th head coach in The Citadel's basketball history. In 2010-11, Driesell's first at the helm, The Citadel went head-to-head with 11 teams that reached postseason play, including six that finished in the top 100 of the RPI.
A former Academic All-ACC shooting guard and Maryland alumnus, Driesell served for four seasons on head coach Gary Williams' Maryland staff. Respected as a recruiter, he has gone head-to-head with schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Southeastern Conference and the Big East.
As a four-year letter winner at Maryland from 1981-85, Driesell was a member of four postseason teams under his father's leadership, earning Academic All-ACC honors. The Terps won 85 games during his career, while making three NCAA Tournament appearances and capturing the 1984 ACC Championship.
Each month, Small Business Lunch at Halls features a distinguished speaker from the business, civic or political arenas upstairs at Halls Chophouse with an imaginative three course meal prepared by Executive Chef Matthew Niessner.
