Mike Furlinger, owner of the Terrace Theater on James Island, plans to breathe new life into the former IMAX theater at Aquarium Wharf by showing blockbuster features on the single screen in the renamed Terrace Hippodrome on "by far the largest screen in Charleston," per a recent article by Allyson Byrd in the Post and Courier.
"Furlinger, who owns the art-house Terrace Theater on James Island, said Hippodrome's single screen will span up to 70 feet in length and reach up to 40 feet high. He plans to reopen the facility between May 1 and May 15 with a showing of either "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" or the newest "Star Trek" release."
