At 418 King Street in Downtown Charleston there used to be a wonderful shop called Cameron's Antiques, owned by Patricia Ahern. (Now it's The French Hare, equally as wonderful for different reasons). Antique stores suck me right in and the old building's light was as beautiful as the goodies inside. Patricia graciously humored my request to come back with my camera. The results were beautiful.

Pansy

Lunch with good friend and fellow photographer Ron Rocz on the tiny patio at Mimi’s Cafe on James Island, SC. Cool winds drove the fair weather diners inside, leaving us to enjoy the lowcountry marsh in quiet conversation.

Mimi’s shares a makeshift dirt parking area with the Harbor View Beauty Salon, a small establishment whose pansy flowerboxes defy road dust and exhaust fumes to speak eloquently of January in the South.
